The Miss Raven is a beautiful 45′ charter vessel built in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1967 she was brought to Charleston, Oregon where she fished until 1998. After that she was brought to Newport, Oregon where she filled a dream of Mike and Vella Sorensen to own their own boat, and take people out to not only fish, but to also enjoy the beauty of the ocean. The original name was the Cabrilla, but Mike and Vella decided to rename her Miss Raven after Vella’s Alaskan heritage.
Mike and Vella would like to thank everyone that made 2016 a great year and invite you all back in 2017. And bring a friend or two!
Our quota for halibut went up this year, so there are more days to choose from on that deep-sea adventure for the “Big One”. There might be more opportunities for offshore bottom fishing trips, and we’ll keep you updated on that.
There are a few changes on the Miss Raven this year. Mike will be taking the year off. His good friend, Rick Hill, will be at the helm of the Miss Raven. Rick has plenty of experience on charter boats, and fishes the same way that Mike does (Mike helped him out years ago when Rick started). Nickie is working the back deck, and will make your trip the dream of a lifetime.
Mike will still be on the boat from time-to-time, but will be doing some commercial fishing this year. He’ll be back to chartering in 2018.
So get on board the Miss Raven and have a great day with the crew out fishing on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. You can bring home a great catch any time of the year – Rock Fish, Halibut, Salmon or Tuna. You can throw crab pots out to add to your adventure at sea if you wish.
We hope to see you all in the near future!
